A positive perspective, kindness, commitment, care for others, willingness to learn and get things accomplished, lots of energy and flexibility!

It was very fun working in this program. I learned a lot about working with children.

Literacy Tutor grades K thru 3 to include assessment of students' progress and benchmarks. Plan appropriate activities for each student's reading level. Utilize computer for effective management of files and creation of plans. Organize school events to encourage literacy awareness and parent involvement. Plan community events which promote literacy and volunteerism. AmeriCorps coursework to include Diversity and Disability training, True Colors, and Thinking Maps....

Working the Special Olympics, MHMR Valentines Dance, Community Garden and many other volunteer experiences that I would have never thought of serving if not for AmeriCorps.

Time flexibility-arranging my own hours, working according to my time schule.

Social contributions-seeking to improve the human condition.

Influencing others-affecting others in ways designed to change attitudes or opinions.
